Apocryphon is a short experimental-narrative film written and directed by John McMinn for Darrell Wilson's Advanced Experimental Workshop at New York University's Tisch School of the Arts Undergraduate Film & Television Program.
The film was shot on Super-16mm film on NYU's Todman Soundstage, Mainline Pennsylvania, and the office of Dr. Hubert Hecht. The key crew for the film consists entirely of NYU film students.
Apocryphon is currently in the final stages of post-production and will begin making the festival rounds in the near future.
John McMinn - Writer & Director
John first picked up a camera at the age of ten and he hasn't put it down since. A native of northeastern Oklahoma, he moved to New York City to study at NYU, where he received a BFA in Film & Television Production. As a student he wrote and directed numerous short films, including the acclaimed Clan McCormack.
In addition to his work as a writer and director, John is a freelance editor and cinematographer based in Brooklyn. He currently serves as the assistant editor for the Streamy-nominated web series RADAR.
Daniel Lichtenberg - Producer
Daniel graduated from NYU's Film & Television program in 2007. In the same year, he produced seven films in as many months. Dan's professional résumé includes work for Howcast and Post Logic, one of the top post-production facilities on the East Coast. He has also directed, written, and shot commercials and interviews for SinaiLive, a Jewish non-profit organization.
Dan is currently a graduate student at San Francisco State University and is a published poet.
Really Big Explosion Productions
John and Dan have been collaborators since they first met during the spring of their freshman year at NYU. They have worked together on short films, commercials, music videos, screenplays, and audio projects. All of these projects have been produced under the banner of Really Big Explosion Productions. They recently completed a feature-length screenplay, Campfire, and are currently in search of financing.
